iOS 5 Will Work on the iPhone 3GS [Video]

Despite concerns, the iPhone 3GS will be supported in iOS 5.
This means that 3GS owners will be able to download and install Apple’s next version of iOS when it goes live for the public this fall.
Although most parts of iOS 5 will work on the 3GS, certain features will not. This includes parts of the new Camera app. Overall, the iPhone 3GS works pretty well with the iOS 5 developer beta that people have already been testing…
Unfortunately, Apple has yet to state any other limitations that could be imposed on older hardware, like the iPhone 3GS. The company has been clear that the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (3rd and 4th gen), iPad 1, and iPad 2 will all be supported by iOS 5.
It’s important to keep in mind that iOS 5 is not yet a finished product. The first developer beta was released yesterday, and it will go through several more beta versions before it’s ready for prime time.
Most likely, any real iPhone 3GS limitations won’t be revealed until the final release of iOS 5 in a few months.

As you can tell, the first iOS 5 beta seems to run pretty well on the 3GS.
Are you waiting to upgrade from your iPhone 3GS this fall? Apple could introduce a new iPhone in September with iOS 5 pre-installed.
